  • design professional information, such as license and registration information, schematic or architectural drawings, or other information we may require or request;
  • educational information, such test information resulting from your use and review of materials provided by us; and
  • other Information you voluntarily provide to us.

You are under no obligation to provide Information to us. However, when registering with us, or from time to time during your relationship with us, you may opt in or out of certain types of communications that may affect the Information we gather. We reserve the right to inform you that opting out may prevent you from enjoying the full benefits of, or participating in the use of, our website and our programs and Services.

How Do We Use Your Information?

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, we are the data controller and retain all rights to the Information we collect.

Any and all uses of your Information by us will comply with applicable laws. We will use the Information we collect from you for the following purposes in furtherance of our mission:

  • providing information to you and the public regarding our Services and specific programs;
  • responding to your requests so that we may better understand your needs, and how we can improve our website and other communications with you and the programs and Services we provide;
  • contacting you directly with information we think you may find interesting or useful about CRMP or earthquake insurance or our members or affiliates;
  • pooling your Information with that of others to derive business statistics;
  • using photographs submitted  by you for educational, research or public relations purposes (any personally identifiable information such as house number will be removed if possible);
  • analyzing how houses that are seismically retrofitted perform in earthquakes; and
  • administering your account or accounts with us.

  • Authorized third-party vendors and service providers that help us with Services, including but not limited  billing, payment processing, customer service, email deployment, business analytics, marketing, advertising, performance monitoring, hosting, and data processing;
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency for the purposes of determining your eligibility to participate in our programs and in their programs;
  • Local government agencies, including planning, building, engineering departments in your area;
  • Federal and state government entities that provide funding for our Services;
  • Legal requirement.  We may disclose information as required by law, including but not limited to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law enforcement requests, legal claims or government inquiries; and
  • Consent. With your consent or at your direction, we may share information for any other purposes not listed above  pursuant to your consent or direction.

We will take reasonable measures to ensure any such providers adhere to this Privacy Policy or policies substantially similar in form. To the extent that such providers have access to your Information, it will be used for the purpose of supporting your relationship with us and your enjoyment of our Services.

INFORMATION SECURITY

Information that you provide to us may be stored, processed and transferred by us or by our members or other trusted business partners or by federal and state entities that provide funding for our programs in compliance with our Privacy Policy and based on our instructions. Currently, we store the information that you submit through our website on secure servers located in the United States. We reserve the right to store, process or transfer your information as needed, including to offices or third parties residing or working outside of the United States. By communicating your Information to us, you agree, with a waiver of any future notice, to the storing, processing and transferring of your Information by us.

We have reasonable security measures to protect our information and your Information against loss, misuse and alteration, including:

  • restricting access to your Information to our employees, contractors and agents who need to know that Information in order to process it for us; and
